3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Basic Use: Crete-Trete 400 Anti-Check Cure is an ASTM 309
Type I B curing compound for use on fresh concrete. Minimizes or eliminates
"checking" of the concrete surface when hot, dry (desert) winds blow over the
fresh concrete. As a curing compound it:
Limitations: Do not apply over puddles on the surface of the concrete. Do not use if temperature drops below 50° F. Protect from freezing.
Ground Shipping in the USA: Containers holding 275 gallons or 55 gallons or 5 gallons or less (regardless of quantity) are not federally regulated and shipping product in the Cresset package does not require following hazardous shipping requirements.
Applicable Standards: Exceeds ASTM C-309-89 for water retention at the rate of 500 square feet per gallon. Exceeds California SCAQMD VOC rule 1113-90. ASTM C-309 officially replaces canceled Federal Specification TT-C-800A.
VOC means "Volatile Organic Compounds". For curing and sealing
materials California requires a VOC of 350 grams per liter or less. (The smaller the
number, the safer you are.)

carcinogens.
5. APPLICATION
As a curing compound: Apply to fresh concrete after all
the free water has disappeared and concrete has taken an initial set. (OBTAIN YOUR BEST
CURE BY APPLYING CRETE-TRETE 400 ANTI-CHECK CURE WHILE THE CONCRETE IS STILL MOIST...BUT
NO PUDDLES ARE PRESENT.) Spray, roll or brush Crete-Trete 400 Anti-Check Cure onto the
concrete surface uniformly at a rate of 200-300 square feet per gallon.
Notes to Specifier/Applicator: 1. MOISTEN DRY CONCRETE WITH WATER BEFORE APPLYING. Dry concrete absorbs water from the "wet" Crete-Trete 400 film hindering proper film formation. Using Crete-Trete 400 on dry concrete may result in a film with a white, flaky or dusty appearance as well as poor adhesion to the concretes surface.
2. Avoid extra thick applications. Apply several thin coats rather than
one thick coat. On thick coats the surface may harden first, trapping other materials in
the film. This results in a white appearance. Frequently, the white disappears in a few
weeks.
6. AVAILABILITY AND COST
Availability: Crete-Trete 400 is available in 1 and 5
gallon containers; recyclable orange and white plastic 55 gallon drums and 275 gallon

Cost: The cost on hard, smooth surfaces is about $0.08 per
square foot (January 2007).
